COACHING, CLEARLY EXPLAINED
Questions are a good place to begin.
Here are straightforward answers about what coaching is, how we would work together, and what you can expect.
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is focused on where you are now, where you want to go, and the actions that can help you move forward. It can support habits, wellbeing, relationships, career direction, and personal growth.
Therapy is delivered by a licensed mental health professional and may involve diagnosis, treatment, trauma, or mental health conditions. Coaching does not diagnose or treat mental illness and is not a replacement for therapy or medical care. If your needs fall outside the scope of coaching, I will encourage you to seek the appropriate professional support.
What happens during the free discovery call?
We spend 45 minutes talking about what you would like to change, what has been getting in the way, and the kind of support you are looking for. You can ask questions and get a feel for my approach. We then decide whether working together feels right for both of us. There is no pressure to commit.
How much does coaching cost?
Private coaching is CAD $75 per session. The initial commitment is eight weekly sessions, for a total of CAD $600.
Why is there an eight session minimum?
Meaningful change usually needs more than one helpful conversation. Eight weekly sessions give us enough time to understand the pattern, practise small changes, reflect on what is working, and adjust along the way.
After the first eight sessions, you can continue for as long as the coaching remains useful to you.
Are the coaching sessions remote?
Yes. The discovery call and all private coaching sessions take place remotely through Google Meet, so you can join from wherever you feel comfortable.
How often do we meet?
We meet remotely once each week. Regular sessions help you maintain momentum while giving you time to practise between conversations.
Will I have anything to do between sessions?
Usually, yes. We agree on one small and realistic action to explore during the week. It is designed around your life and what feels possible, rather than being a rigid assignment.
Do I need to sign an agreement?
Yes. Before paid coaching begins, you sign a client commitment and coaching agreement. It explains the scope of coaching, each person’s responsibilities, payment, scheduling, confidentiality, and other practical expectations. You will have time to read it and ask questions before signing.
When do we choose the session dates?
Once we agree that we are a good fit and the coaching agreement is signed, we arrange the dates and times for your weekly sessions.
What can I bring to coaching?
You can bring a change you want to make in everyday wellbeing, career, or relationships. You do not need to arrive with a perfectly formed goal. Part of our work can be finding clarity about what you need.
Can I begin with self coaching instead?
Yes. The self coaching space offers a private 30 day habit routine you can use independently. If you later want personal support, you can book a discovery call at any time.
